Community Partnerships Manager, Kansas
Blanca immigrated to Southwest Kansas from Mexico during her late high school years in search of a better life. Being an immigrant in Southwest Kansas with limited English proficiency, she got to experience firsthand the challenges and barriers that the migrant community faces as they work towards social acceptance.
Her desire to serve her community drove her to build a career in the nonprofit world. After working as a domestic violence, sexual assault and immigration advocate for 5 years, her desire to break the cycle of violence and poverty, drove her to more preventative initiatives. For the past 10 years, Blanca worked in youth services implementing prevention and education programs focused on at risk students. In her commitment to build a more equitable, welcoming and civically engaged Kansas, Blanca joined Kansas Appleseed for law and Justice working to achieve a complete Census count in southwest Kansas and inciting Kansans to register to vote and participate in the democratic process, a commitment that will continue to be a priority.
Blanca is excited to join Lead for American as the Kansas Community Partnerships Manager with the goal to expand LFA's reach and mission across the sunflower state.
